The Strategic Petroleum Reserve refill has clearly stopped. Last year, Biden awarded contracts for SPR refill deliveries all the way through May 2025. However, the January deliveries were lower than expected, and the February deliveries were almost nonexistent.

Hmm, something is going on with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve refill. Biden already bought 3,465 thousand barrels for delivery to the SPR in February, but 21 days into the month there is no movement at all.
Maybe it got caught up in Trump's pauses?

Electricity rates are actually decreasing from $0.110549 to $0.108090. However, the flat monthly connection fee is increasing substantially from $22.50 to $32.50 (really from $20 to $30 after paperless/autopay discount).

Update: The compressor was dead. It took ~5 days for the temps to slowly rise to the point of being unsafe. I spent those days trying to eat it empty.
I wouldn't have caught the failure nearly as early if it weren't for this energy monitoring and probably would have had to throw way more food away.

One of these days I need to set up automated alerting. The problem was actually visible days ago.

Have Texas electricity prices risen lately, or is that just inflation? I adjusted EIA price data for inflation to see.
Looks like inflation adjusted prices did rise a bit after Covid, but not much. What did change was the bigger summer spikes. 2024 looks much smaller though.

Somehow Nextdoor got the idea that I am the owner of a local business named "Southwestern Bell Telephone Company" and they regularly harass me to claim my small business page.

Trump claims he's going to implement all kinds of wild and often conflicting policies. I don't know which policies will actually be implemented, but I do know that when these wild policies have bad economic consequences, the explanation will be, "See, Biden DID ruin the economy. It's just delayed."
