As of today, the Central and Northeast Regions of the state have worsened to a Level 2–Significant Drought. Conditions have also declined in nearly all other regions, moving the Southeast Region to a Level–1 Mild Drought and the Millers River Basin to a Level 3-Critical Drought.

Massachusetts is reopening its Dam Owners Technical Assistance Program, offering free engineering support to help public and private dam owners comply with safety regulations.

Work runs through June 30, 2026.

Trees are one of nature’s best defenses against extreme heat!

Over $630K in Cooling Corridors grants will plant hundreds of new trees in Environmental Justice Communities, identified hotspots, and along walking routes to schools, parks, and community centers across the state.

In 2023, we awarded the Town of Acton $1.5M in MVP funding to protect 57 acres and incorporate 2 wells into the municipal water supply.

This week, we celebrated the opening of the Water Supply and Open Space Preservation Project, which has made the town more resilient for the future.
