Forgot who I am and bought a white sweater. Took it out of the drawer after months and noticed a nice trail of tea down the front. Strategizing how to turn it into a hat now.

No idea why I got this catalog but I love it. Its entire vibe is clothing for the blandest person you know to be able to go to church and have an equally bland person say, "you're so bad!"

Public artistic resistance to federal immersion policy by LA museums. The project, We Belong Here, projects 30 large scale images created by 9 local artists on the buildings' exteriors to explore the realities faced by immigrants and themes of resilience and community resistance.

And it was!

But the election is not the end. The fight is just starting for leftists. We have to constantly push Mikie to the left and not let her use Trump as the bogeyman to scare us into accepting the Dem status quo.
I feel like it's an auspicious omen for the NJ governor's race that Dick Cheney died today.

this genuinely feels like a moment history books will look back on where the Democratic Party was forced to either fix its hearts or die

Last minute costumes for a historical cemetery tour and party. Partner is Leo in One Battle After Another and I just escaped France after a visit to the Louvre. I assume this is what all French people look like? (Also how don't I own a beret?)

New Jersey, if you see ICE these are the numbers to call so that community members can come out in support. There have been a lot of raids and sightings in NJ bc we're under attack for being a diverse state run by Democrats. Make sure there are eyes on ICE wherever they go. Save this on your phone!

Students, for the love of all that's right in the world, stop asking me if you're going to miss anything important if you're absent from class. What do you expect me to say? Nope, this is the class where I'm going to channel Jeff Winger teaching law at Greendale?

Latinx communities across the USA have been targeted by ICE. This summer, four LA historical and cultural institutions spoke out in solidarity, amongst silence in the museum sector.

This article argues that the problem with colleges is that they focus on "transactional learning." Their bombshell conclusion is that they should instead teach "premium skills" such as "verification of sources, contextual decision-making, and ethical reasoning under ambiguity..."
Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."

So demoralizing to see students using ChatGPT on a low stakes reading quiz. Usually I give them in class, but I had class on zoom bc of the nor'easter so the quiz was on canvas. Multiple students with the same phrases in their answers and answers with more detail than asked for.

Fascinating.

"Easily missed in the media barrage of burning Waymo cars and heavily armed law enforcement, four of the city’s museums and cultural institutions .... issued a statement condemning the administration."

Why did 4 LA historical and cultural organizations have the courage to speak out against Trump's ICE raids this summer? I interviewed their leaders and wrote about their commitment to drawing parallels with the past while caring for their communities.
