Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is unfit to serve.

He leaked classified information on Signal, potentially putting military pilots at risk. He then refused to cooperate with the IG.

He lied about a war crime, and then threw Admiral Bradley under the bus.

Hegseth must resign.
BREAKING NEWS: Pentagon IG says of Hegseth's use of Signal, "The information could have imperiled American troops." If Hegseth values our troops as much as he says he does, he should resign and allow someone more experienced to lead the Department of Defense.

This is really important. Both in the fact of IMLS reinstating grants. (Which have been *crucial* for libraries and civic life across the country. Notably in rural areas.)

And in the example that the overall stalwartness and rigor of federal district/circuit courts has made a huge difference.
IMLS announces "upon further review" that it is reinstating all federal grants to libraries. It leaves out that it's doing this because a federal court told them a few weeks ago that the Trump admin's decision to destroy libraries was not legal.

It was extraordinarily painful and I don't think I will ever have the energy to do it again, but I just explained to someone how there is no "tariff revenue" and it is just a tax paid by U.S. consumers. The person was furious.

FACT FOCUS: Trump says tariffs can eventually replace federal income taxes. Experts disagree
President Donald Trump has long praised tariffs as key to increasing wealth in the United States, idealizing Gilded Age policies that preceded the implementation of a modern federal income tax.

Also, adding to @lioneltrolling.bsky.social here, the craven rush to declare Trump the winner of the "argument" over immigration is kind of a version of it. There was no verdict for Trump on this and I will keep insisting that the spontaneous cultural pushback is a meaningful/significant development

Mike Johnson claims releasing the Epstein files could jeopardize future cases and even threaten national security. None of that survives contact with the facts. And the national security excuse only raises bigger questions about who Epstein really was.

Sabrina Carpenter and Franklin the Turtle share at least one bond: Neither wants to be featured in the Trump administration’s social media posts. Carpenter on Tuesday slammed the White House's X account for using her song in a post that mocked protesters opposed to Trump’s immigration crackdown.

The publisher of the children’s book series and the pop singer both denounced the use of their works in recent Trump administration communications.
