The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

In the spring of 2008, I feared America was on the verge of war with Iran — and, believing that it’s good style to get to know people before you bomb them, I made “Rick Steves’ Iran,” a one-hour special that could (and would) only debut on PBS. Sadly, this special has become pertinent again today.
Iran
Join Rick as he explores the most surprising and fascinating land he's ever visited: Iran. In a one-hour, ground-breaking travel special on public television, you'll discover the splendid monuments of...

Yesterday, millions of us reasserted the “We” in "We the people."

We gained strength from our solidarity. We celebrated our numbers and our power.

We will be steadfast. We will not cower to a dictator.

We will win.

Republicans won’t raise the federal min wage of $7.25 because they Claim it will tank the economy—hasn’t budged since 2009.

California raised it to $16.50 statewide, $20/hour for fast food—and in cities like West Hollywood, it’s $19.61.

No collapse. No chaos. Just the 4th biggest economy on Earth.
Not only is California the 4th largest economy in the world—it’s growing faster than any of the top three: U.S., China, and Germany.

Red state Republicans love to hate us… but they sure don’t mind cashing the checks.

This is not just about media that is critical of trump, trump wants to silence all media that speaks the truth.

We are already being governed by a fascist, this is just the next step in solidifying his power. #WakeUp
'60 Minutes' chief resigns, saying show's independence was compromised
The longtime head of CBS' 60 Minutes resigned Tuesday, as the network's parent company grapples with President Trump's lawsuit over an interview the show did with Kamala Harris last fall.

The fact that Pete Hegseth is still being defended by the administration despite bipartisan concern really raises questions about transparency and accountability at the highest levels.

I am horrified at the Trump administration’s reckless push to increase timber production on our public lands and national forests. This plan would sidestep critical environmental protections, putting our forests, wildlife, clean air, and water at serious risk. Our public lands should not sacrificed!

Eliminating the IMLS Act would mean fewer resources, fewer services, and a loss of opportunity for millions. This act is not just about funding institutions—it’s about investing in people and preserving the foundation of an informed, inclusive, and thriving democracy.
Protect the IMLS Act.

Pete Hegseth's biggest fear is to be judged by the content of his character rather than the color of his skin.
Hegseth: The DOD will be merit based and colorblind. You will be judged on how good you are at your job. Full stop.

President Trump has mentioned the name “Biden” 6.32 times a day on average during his first 50 days back in office, a New York Times analysis shows. It's among his most frequently used terms: He has said “Biden” in more speeches than he has said “America,” for example.
For Trump, Biden Is an All-Purpose Target for Blame
A central dictum in the Trump White House is that Joseph R. Biden Jr. is to blame for just about anything and everything.

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.
