so far anyone ultrarich with somewhat left-coded presentation stops short of funding anything that actually threatens their wealth. it's not just that the right is willing to speculate and play the long game, it's that the long game they play isn't ultimately antithetical to their interests.
IMO one of the right’s major structural advantages is having plutocrats who do unrestricted giving and are open to experimentation/long- term institution building with difficult to quantify benefits.
