It's the end of The Best American Poetry.

I wrote about the forty-year anthology project, poetry’s place in Big Five publishing, and editor David Lehman's culture wars vision of American verse.

One policy solution to Young Men we should be considering is Universal Basic Electric Guitar (UBEG). I'm not joking, by the way. Kids of any gender should get a low-cost starter kit for some hobby of their choosing once they turn 13. A camera, paints, a cheap sampler, etc.

NEW: Arkansas announced plans for a mega prison in a rural town. Since then, locals are organizing to stop it.

At first they opposed it in their own town. But some now say they've taken a more critical look at how we incarcerate in the country.

make time for this new feature, you won't regret it

AI filmmaking is peeing. It’s pooping. It’s throwing up. It’s a new kind of liquid coming out. It’s hated by the establishment. It’s what goes in the toilet. It’s wet. It’s what’s in the bathroom.

universities ARE healthcare

rural clinics, rural hospitals, urban ERs all run by universities where corporations won't go

attacking universities is public health poison

From me: It hasn't been stressed enough just how disastrous the Republican Medicaid cuts would be for the hospital system—rural hospitals, yes, but ALL hospitals will be more crowded, more burdened, & at more risk of collapse if hundreds of closures occur, as is likely.

The “deal” that Brown made with the Trump admin is much more extreme than is being reported. It includes government oversight of course evaluations and no barrier to government interference in faculty hiring.
