When the Reaper goes fishing in your river, it feels all the more jarring.

RIP @valkycfc.bsky.social
Saddened to hear the news that Adam @valkycfc.bsky.social Walczak, well known to many Chelsea supporters, passed away last night. Thoughts with his family and friends. RIP Valky 💙

Same thought I have at every Winter Olympics

How do you realise you are good at some of these events???

We really don’t need the political equivalent of Roy Keane appearing on The Rest is Bullshit or whatever series they’ve launched recently
we're all celebrating now but remember we've just released a new substacker and podcaster into the wild

Thought I’d gone on one of those London Underground tours of abandoned stations by mistake. Turns out I’m on the Bakerloo Line.

People getting moody about Havertz tapping that badge should recall the numerous occasions Blueco have treated players they wanted gone in a fashion that breaches employment regulations in normal industries.

Still a tit though. Looks like a foppish aristo who blew the family fortune on opium.

Mandelson appeared on a Times podcast for the best part of year up until the point he was made US ambassador so hardly a shock.

In the studio with him? A certain Chelsea non-executive director…
Mandelson last week did a comeback/damage limitation interview with photographer for the Times magazine, which I'm guessing was planned to run at a future date but has been pushed out online on a Monday night because of events. Anyway yeah. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Between Mandelson and Andrew, the two institutions I’d most like razed to the ground are getting some great press…

That Garnacho performance in the first half reminds me of that article about the epidemic of footballers abusing sleeping tablets I haven’t read yet..

The smile that went up my face when I saw that Benfica goal proves my dislike of Jose over his interlude with ‘that lot in N17’ has largely evaporated.

Also reinforces my soft spot for Benfica since the 2013 Europa League final and their fans banner for Blind Gerry in Amsterdam

Feel like posting this at 3am like the night worker I am meant no one saw this.

Discuss please. It’s a recent thing I’ve seen on history docs and it’s instructive that it has to be declared before the programme starts. Proper weirds me out.

Also, despite that, the Victorian Murder Club is decent.
Been watching that Victorian Murder Club about the Thames Torso Murders.

I can just about accept colourising photos taken in 1890s to help dull imaginations.

Using AI to make still images move a bit needs to get right in the bin however.

Ah damn, I’ve been beaten to this post
NEW: Suella Braverman has defected to Reform UK, shocking the many people who were sure that she had already.

Anyone getting that bruised up after hitting the corner of a table is on a stronger dose of warfarin than I was given a few years back
The White House just released a statement on Trump’s extremely discolored hand:

“At the Board of Peace event today in Davos, President Trump hit his hand in the corner of the signing table, causing it to bruise.”

The world’s most divorced man getting wound up by Michael O’Leary is quite hilarious.

Just needs the social media intern at Paddy Power to rip the piss now and we have a full house.

Thank Christ it wasn’t just me!

The whole segment is worth a listen for the African football expert describing general refereeing incompetence. Between that & clips I’ve seen of the Senegal team treatment before game plus the towel nonsense during, no wonder they walked off thinking the fix was in
‘I feel that he deliberately missed that penalty’

Did Brahim Díaz miss Morocco's last-gasp penalty in the Afcon final deliberately to keep the 'peace' of the game?

It’s quite bad that I see this account posting about things like this and my immediate urge is to reply “get drawing”
That might be the single funniest penalty in football history, I really can’t think of one to rival it. Terry slipping was good but the sheer hubris of the failed panenka… 10/10 no notes.

What a fucking goal!!!
January 18, 2026 at 9:22 PM
That was such a bad penalty I'm convinced he missed it on purpose

Not as distressing as being the same age as the new Chelsea manager…
The concept of Aké being over 30 is distressing.
city very deliberately changed their squad to get younger. only two players in this team 30 or over (ake and b. silva). i feel like that should mean a pep guardiola team is better at pressing than this.
