COLBERT, on Rep. Al Green’s removal:

“Some people questioned why so much muscle was needed to remove an old man with a cane. But it turns out it was for a serious reason. When security searched him, they found that he smuggled in a spine."

I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.

Trump is backpedaling on nearly everything—deportations, tariffs, firings, even dismantling the Dept. of Ed—after backlash. But these were his campaign promises. His chaos is no accident. Stay informed with today’s top stories.

Trump and Musk are messing with Social Security by demanding 15% cuts to staff.

“We are already short-staffed as it is. Right now we are working on applications generally from 2023-ish.”

These Trump and Musk Social Security cuts could mean that "easily the wait times will be extended by one year."
