It's not discussed in all the stories. But a key feature of the revocation of student visas is that there's no notification. This has forced universities to do regular online reviews of current visas to see which have disappeared since the previous query. The lack of notification is by design.

By the way: I wasn’t talking about it being hard to extend grace to, say, incel Trump voters. I mean to us — each other — the people who oppose fascism and hold to some fundamental values. There’s a lot of bitterness and anger slipping out against each other, I think. It’s very human.

I think people are extremely on edge, and horrified by how quickly society has slipped into this banal techno-fascism, and scared about how far it will go, and that makes people brittle and impatient, and if I were a better person I would extend grace to people because of that, but, you know, I’m me
