upstate would be / would've been to say "goodbye" to a beloved home of P's aunt and uncle that my kid has a lot of sentimental ties to... they're moving to CT. I just think it's going to be draining vs restful esp as it is right on the edge of my final week of the term, and given my limits rn

I think we should still just stay home. Kid picked paint swatches last week & her dream bed arrived today (a big mental load item off my brain after over a year of marketplace/CL searching / contacting etc) with P and a friend and it'd be nice to just do that stuff given my ?? energy / availability

We had a plan to go upstate next week but then decided we should back out bc the plan itself was going to involve a lot of annoying logistics... but then yesterday we found out the annoying logistics part was no longer going to be an issue.

I think I have like 10 wakeful hours a day.

I do appreciate some parts of learning this way and getting a number of chances to try a type of problem

backtracking my work to find where I made the mistake is v tiring but helps me understand what I'm prone to not noticing etc.

I also realized that being left-handed def adds to math challenges, what is it like to have your entire hand out of the fucking way of your most recent previously-written work on the paper!? Fuck! Uh but then I moved into the graded and got everything right on the first try?! And now I'm so sleepy.
February 14, 2026 at 4:24 AM
Ugh I had to do a whole... stats prereq assignment / quiz over again (they unlock the graded work), and then once more, lost like 50 min to the 2nd round only to see I made just about the same amount of mistakes AGAIN? And when I reviewed and looked at my written work I traced my mistakes and blugh

This is like daily from ~3 or 4 to ~9-12

Had telehealth yesterday and irl doctor today and the fatigue thing is lowest priority.

Bloodwork and cardio referral happened, to a diff cardio than 2024 bc we are trying to find a nuclear stress test situation that I… can do.
Welp here I go :::to the depths of fatigue::: 😭😮‍💨

the people who spread the “female brains are bad at math and spatial reasoning” lies should be tried at the Hague
Another fun wrinkle from that period (that might still exist): I was good at math and loved it and then my geometry teacher told me that I'd probably struggle because female brains were bad at spatial thinking. I kept loving math & being good at it but assumed that would end so I ended it first.
Those who weren’t resigned to the Math Idiot Garbage Bin as kids may not grasp how much “if you’re bad at math, you’ll die in a ditch and all will be better off for it” sentiment was floating around in the 90s and 2000s, but it sure felt real to me.

(my parents are great! It didn’t come from them!)

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.

The guineas go nuts a lot lately bc they can smell that we’ve got dill, which they go so dangerously wild for (like sometimes I worry they could break their spine bc they’ll jump so high from excitement / hope if they smell it coming their way?!)
