Not a nebula—just Earth showing off. NASA astronaut Anne McClain snapped this stunning top-down view of lightning from the ISS, lighting up night clouds over Alabama and Georgia. Space turns storms into celestial art.

Truly terrifying erasure of history.

Points to the meaning & value of the printed (and I do mean printed) word to understand history. Easy to change a web site (even the wayback machine isn't perfect). Impossible to change a book's content once it's printed.

In a shocking turn of events, many of the people who said they wanted "free speech" actually just wanted to be the ones in charge of which speech is free.
UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

Grovel. The word you're looking for is grovel. When you come before Trump, it's not as an equal, it's as a peasant, a serf, a prole, hat in hand, touching your forelock, and you grovel and kiss his ass and tell him how great he is, or you are guilty of criminal disrespect against the State.

Mass firings, shutting down critical services, blowing up our alliances, crashing the markets, encouraging inflation...

These aren't the actions of a political party aspiring to get reelected.

These are the actions of an authoritarian regime that does not intend to honor elections ever again.

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.
More accurate, fewer words;

"There are plenty of contractors going under".

A friend furloughed 75% of staff (furlough w/paying for health insurance for three months), 50% exec pay cut, 25% rest of staff to keep as many people w/salary.

PS: Wasn't 18F a government office, not a contractor.
