PLV is awesome and @marksteubinger.bsky.social has the smarts to show you how to use it to evaluate a hitter's ability!

It's a weird trade deadline when you like all the players your team adds but you're overall still disappointed in what happened. I still can't believe the #Cubs didn't get a frontline starter.

I feel like such an outlier among sports fans because I just don't care about or understand the hype surrounding the NFL Draft. Sure, I care who my team drafts. I'll read some recaps. But the incessant coverage for months and months is so annoying.

It bothers me way more than it should that the MLB app can't correctly display double digit scores. Anyone else's look like this?

Yes he's 36 and coming off an injury-marred season. But it feels like the fantasy community is really overlooking Merrill Kelly.

Since 2022 he has a 3.45 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. He should get plenty of wins pitching for a good Dbacks team.

He's become one of my favorite late pitching targets.

This week was all about late round category targets at @pitcherlist.com. I dove deep into late homer and save options to close out your draft.

It's TGFBI day! I couldn't be happier with this start out of the 12 spot. Definitely didn't think Mookie would fall that far. It's a new max pick for him over the last two weeks.

I may have to join a few more two-catcher leagues this year, because I absolutely love the value you can get on some of these mid to late round picks. I wrote it up for @pitcherlist.com if you want to take a look.

Over the last two weeks Sean Manaea is the 73rd pitcher off the board in NFBC drafts. Here are his ranks among SP since the 2023 All-Star break.

242 IP (34th)
3.46 ERA (14th)
1.10 WHIP (t-9th)
16% K-BB% (24th)

But also:
.252 BABIP (3rd)
10.3% HR/FB (t-8th)

The Yankees are hoping to add both Goldschmidt and Arenado?

meanwhile Tucker is exactly what the Cubs needed. A team full of 2.0-3.5 win guys gets the injection of potential 6+ wins they absolutely needed. They should stop forgetting their wallet at home and extend him while they're at it.
Isaac Paredes is an absolutely perfect fit in Houston and this is still intensely stupid, imo

If this actually happens, I absolutely love the Cubs getting Tucker. I'd rather them not give up Smith, but that's the price of acquiring a bonafide star. But to make it make sense, they HAVE to extend him. It can't be a rental.
