When I was a kid my Mom had a crush on Reggie Smith (though she might not have characterized it that way), the local team’s center fielder. Anyhow, I can see her point?

Damn, those are great. I feel like the 1969 Braves poster might get bumped!

The interesting discussion with respect to the Dodgers signing Tucker is what it means to the upcoming season for various teams but I have to wade through a lot of raw sewage to find it.

When I got an alert on my phone I thought they'd signed Eugenio Suarez, but I prefer this move.
Initial story on the Red Sox agreeing to a five-year, $130 million deal with lefty Ranger Suarez -- a move that gives the team a deeper rotation (and a lot of depth from which to trade) amidst an ongoing push to add more offense. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/01/14/s...
Red Sox sign free agent lefthander Ranger Suárez to five-year, $130 million contract - The Boston Globe
Though Suárez has never been a workhorse, he’s averaged 26 starts and 147 innings since moving into the rotation on a full-time basis four years ago.

The only books that sold quicker in this period were these, which you could get in several ethnic varieties.

The Thames. (No, not that one.)
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

British police have killed fewer people in the last 100 years than American police kill in an average month.

Policing in America is an ongoing tragedy.

For me it’s 1957 and 1967 at the top.

If they can make Don Zimmer look like this, imagine what they could do with Koufax and Drysdale?

The 1957 Topps Dodger team set is just sick with masterpieces.

Did that guy win 400 games perchance?

Love me some postcards.

I don’t have a question, please pardon me.

Dick Williams I’ll guess.

I also feel pretty confident about 1970s and 1980s cards. It gets harder once you advance into the 1990s and beyond IMO.

I get it. It took me 20+ years to get there. Maybe my 18 month-old grandson will be my new destination.

Since I brought it up, I will confess that I have done this, mainly with loose post-1990 cards that I don’t know of any other home for. This thread has helped me consider alternatives though, so thank you.

There has been talk of late around @sabrbbcards.bsky.social about how one could reduce their collection. I’m just going to ask: could you reach a point when certain cards without monetary or personal value would be simply … thrown out? (Or, as an Oregonian, placed in the recycling bin.)

Not the ones I sold at least.

The career WAR on this cover is off the charts. (My first “job”, several years after this issue appeared, was delivering TV Guide door-to-door.)

Not getting it!

Fleer is definitely the best image, which should carry the most weight. Donruss has my favorite front design (ignoring photo) and my favorite back, which bridges most of the gap. Image wins, though barely. IMO!
