Sunshine and shadows looking through the trees at Tibradden forest just outside Dublin. The dried out gorse is lit up with a bright ray of sun with further trees beyond the immediate grass and gorse. Out above the forest a blue sky, which lasted for most of the afternoon. Relief from the grey for a few beautiful hours.

A large, old chestnut tree in Lo For, Arnad. Ancient Celtic peoples, who lived here, believed that touching the wood evoked the benevolent spirits of the trees. A close, dark, fog filled forest path. It might look like the middle of the night but this photo was taken at 1pm in the afternoon. Trees barely visible through the mist shedding their needles over the path. The rocks protruding from the hillside are dotted around this entire landscape and were once used to build the neolithic cairn at the top of this hill. Though these trees were planted by Coillte in recent memory, on days like this the place still retains an ancient feel.
