Today I paid my respects to Aussie soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country I hold dear. Tomorrow I will do the same for the Canadian soldiers.
I can only imagine the incredible heartbreak of every mother who had to say goodbye to their brave sons.

tl;dr of my 2024 but possibly still relevant column: acknowledging and atoning for one's own white privilege was a bummer. Left antisemitism is a way to make it so there's just one group of (mostly, conditionally) white people to blame for all of it.

Many TILs here. Baguette got popular just in 20th c to replace pains de garde, boulangeries balance tradition and the new realities of sourdough, and as I've read recently, the French are into American habits more than everyone expects.

Being a non-Westerner I'm amazed by the numbers of Americans etc who don't get satire posts. It seems:
1. Social media make us think people we don't know are foolish enemies. Happens more if the OP is a (white) woman.
2. Has the US sense of comedy diverged so far? No more laugh in common?

Seems last week I read someone said that all ____Studies only accept left wing perspectives and I wonder how interesting had it gone differently.

Read Riboua's Substack version and I think this is worthy to understand. My parents lived through Third Worldism in the early 1960s and were so glad it was over. Somehow it's very interesting for the West now.
