🧵"So this is how liberty dies..."

Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up.

I’ve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9

I wrote a thing, because these fires are in the increasingly common category of shocking but not surprising. Neither unprecedented nor unforeseen by those who study the subjects.....

Maybe not *the* reality, but an important one.
Here's the reality about the #LAFires this week: this isn't the first time ANY of these places have burned. Not even close. In 2018, we mapped CA fire history to look at fire frequency across SoCal. Santa Monica Mtns area burns more than anywhere else -- up to once per decade in a given spot. 🧵

I’m going to be very honest: 2025 is not going to be a good-looking year for trans people in Canada. The biggest reason why? The federal Conservatives.

My latest Canadian anti-trans risk assessment map is now available online (for the 1st time since Nov. 2023)!

Just a little reminder that the South Korean president who just declared martial law was elected two years ago on a wave of anti-feminist backlash. Misogyny is routinely part of the authoritarian package.

A reminded not to be complacent. Bored and tired of comparing to the worst this world has to offer. Follow @cassiopeia.bsky.social for accurate updates.
Alberta just passed Canada’s most draconian pieces of anti-trans legislation yet.

This includes a GAC ban for trans youth, a forced outing “parental rights” law, and a sports ban.

On an Erin Reed scale, it makes Alberta the first Canadian province to have “worst anti-trans laws”.

I was preparing to pitch an op-ed on the nationwide protests calling for President Yoon's resignation, aiming to provide global context amid the limited international coverage.

Given the urgency, I’m sharing it now. I didn’t expect events to escalate this quickly. #SouthKorea #Democracy
