As a narrative designer who deeply respected Breath of the Wild and was endlessly frustrated by Tears of the Kingdom's shocking shallowness, I'm begging people to learn there is, in fact, a way to use narrative to embolden and strengthen gameplay without suffocating it. It's very possible.
