Unfortunately, people still don’t realise what #HeathrowExpansion actually means. FIVE rivers will be diverted, which is unprecedented. Here’s one of them – the Colne Brook. The M25 and local roads would also be diverted.

We start 2026 feeling optimistic about the future of our local countryside. In 2025 government stepped up to say positive words about the Colne Valley Regional Park, we hope in 2026, they follow up with action to protect and restore the Colne Valley to benefit people & wildlife.

This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

This 2023 survey proves the national importance of the lakes of the Northern half of the Colne Valley Regional Park for water birds. The headlines revealed that Broadwater Lake remains the key refuge, Stocker’s Lake second.
