How does one express to their parents that not wanting to use old baby gear is not a commentary on their parenting but more because safety standards have come a long way in 40+ years. My mother said she had a stroller we can use… said stroller

I have many baby clothing pet peeves, but a big one is the ruffle butts on baby girls clothing. It’s weird, ugly, and I can’t imagine it’s comfortable to lay or sit on. Why is it a thing? Are plain butts too masculine? Ugh, the patriarchy.

Do republicans keep creating reporting websites/emails as a distraction or are they really stupid enough to think folks won’t flood them with bogus reports?

In case anyone doesn’t know, you can report when something is incorrectly named on Apple maps… like a certain Gulf that someone decided they wanted to rename even though no one else in the world agreed with it.

The drama buildup around football games never ceases to make me laugh. Using “In the air tonight” as the opening song… pleeease

As a new mom, TikTok has been such an amazing source of info. From feeling less alone in the IVF process, to deciding what to put on my registry, to relating to other moms who are also going through the struggle. I’ll miss it a lot.

Our baby is very into Raffi, we’ve been singing a lot of “Down by the bay” and all I can think about is new rhymes. Here’s a thread of a few I’ve come up with, add yours:

I speak out loud to my baby a lot because it’s supposed to help her developmentally, but I do it so much that now I do it with the dogs too. I’ll be walking them and say “oh, see a bird, wow” as if I’m talking to my baby 🫠🤦‍♀️

Tokyo Godfathers | Prime
9/10 👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👼

An unexpected holiday surprise. Really sweet story, both sad and gives you the warm fuzzies. Highly recommend.

I’ll Be Home for Christmas | Hulu
1/10 🎅

So bad. So so bad. JTT is at a college with lockers and high school bullies, so clearly the writers have no idea how colleges work. Made it about halfway before I couldn’t watch anymore. Sorry JTT.

I was kind of meh at the idea of another Superman movie but now that I know there is a super dog in a red cape - Sign me up!

Beethoven | Peacock

6/10 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Peacock lists this in their Seasons Steamings, it is most definitely not a holiday movie. I forgot how screwed up the premise is. They want to test bullets on Beethoven!? Wtf? Also, Stanley Tucci is in this?

The Santa Clause | Disney+

7/10 🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅
If we just gloss over the whole murdering Santa to become Santa thing, it’s a great family movie. My little millennial heart can’t stop loving this movie even though it stars Tim Allen.

Our Little Secret | Netflix

5/10 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Exactly what I expect from a Netflix Lindsey Lohan movie at this point. Silly, not well written, but Lindsey carries it with the help of Chenoweth. Also very clear where Netflix cut corners to save $ 😂

Christmas Island | Hallmark on Netflix

3/10
Predictable and lacking the cozy potential a small island town in Nova Scotia could have. I was also very distracted by the digital snow and stock aerial shots of ransom different towns.

Come on, it’s a classic. That being said, the wet bandits definitely would not have survived half of Kevin’s boobie traps.

The Merry Gentlemen | Netflix
2/10 🎅🎅

They did the main actress dirty with that wig. Why did she eat a cookie like that? Dance scenes are more awkward than sexy. I am convinced the script was written by AI.

Hot Frosty | Netflix
5/10 ⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️
Cute if not slightly disturbing. Still unnerved that the whole town just left what they thought was a dead body in the snow. Per usual, left with more questions than answers.

Every now and then it's nice to pick your head up from your book, reacquaint yourself with the world, take a hard pass and immediately go right back to reading. Balance is important.
