As the cabinet was announced, pollster David Coletto of Abacus Data shared some research his firm carried out in 2024. He found that the vast majority of Canadians had no idea who top cabinet ministers were. Couldn’t even pick them out of a lineup, @davidmoscrop.com writes.
Is Mark Carney’s cabinet 'transformational'? Does anyone care?
For those of us who treat cabinet swearing-in ceremonies as melodrama, this is all a big deal. It’s like the Oscars for people with a vitamin D deficiency. But most Canadians just want their problems ...

For those breaking the constitution on behalf of Donald Trump with the assumption that he has your back: he may. But he’s 78, never exercised in his life, and will be president max another 3.5 years. There will be not statute of limitations for violating it

Justin Trudeau gave the exact kind of press conference today that we have been waiting for from our Democratic leaders. Watch it and learn from it. No gimmicks, no stunts, no script, no platitudes, no slogans, no games. Just straight talk, honesty, sincerity and facts.

Again, folks seem not to grasp how much this is a total collapse of the Constitutional order. A random private citizen is running the "Cabinet" meeting of POTUS & the Principal Officers of the Executive Departments, & going around unplugging large portions of the government. And we're all just 🤷‍♂️
This man is barely even a formal government employee, let alone elected or Senate-confirmed. A total failure of the Constitutional order, just broadcast & normalized by every major media outlet.
Elon Musk is now presiding over the cabinet meeting. They're not beating the co-president allegations. (And co-president might be putting it charitably for Trump.)
