i think the moral of the story about iron lung & markiplier is that in an age of AI proliferation & industry taking all sorts of cheap shortcuts to value profit over all else, what people like to see is still passion projects by incredibly motivated people who deeply care about what they're making

we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)

Art tip: You'll get more work from finished work that you think "sucks" than unfinished masterpieces. Often time finishing projects is more important than their quality when it comes to getting your foot in the door.
