I went to the grocery store today. Progresso soup was on “sale” - 2 cans for $6. On SALE. Let me repeat that: SIX FUCKING DOLLARS FOR TWO CANS OF SOUP IS NOW CONSIDERED A SALE PRICE. I bought diapers, coffee creamer, bread, a box of milk-bones, 4 4oz jars of baby food, and egg nog. It was $80.

Hey can anyone explain to me why I keep seeing “mom hack” videos where they take Barbies or other dolls and shrink wrap them in literal garbage (old yogurt container wrappers, etc...)? Why are people shrinkwrapping their dolls like this? Why is this a “hack?”

Idk if it’s just my neurodivergence at work or my gut actually telling me something, but the harder the ad algorithm pushes MomCozy stuff to me, the more resistant to and suspicious of the brand I get.

I finished making a stuffed Winnie the Pooh sing Frère Jacques to my daughter and said the words “the political assassinations have started,” to my husband within the same breath this afternoon so… the historian in me is feeling real weird.

I know my PPA meds are working because I was able to watch The Pitt (I haven’t really been able to watch medical drama shows without having issues since my Anxiety disorder surfaced in college) and OH MY GOD IT WAS SO SO GOOD. Some of the best character writing I’ve seen on TV… ever basically.

I know my PPA meds are working because I was able to watch The Pitt (I haven’t really been able to watch medical drama shows without having issues since my Anxiety disorder surfaced in college) and OH MY GOD IT WAS SO SO GOOD. Some of the best character writing I’ve seen on TV… ever basically.
I cannot tell you how frustrating it is that all these cute personalized books and stuff, where you can personalize the characters to look like you and your family, don’t have different body types. Like, no matter how close the hair and coloring options are, they just aren’t gonna look like us.

I love the idea of using one of those app baby books bc it feels like I might actually be able to FINISH one that way… but the elder millennial in me does NOT feel good about giving some random company access to all those personal details and I’m shocked that more people don’t feel ick about that.

I’ve moved on from ANTM in my “Rewatch Aught Era Shows While Nursing” TV marathon to Project Runway, and a couple things: 1) Tim Gunn is a treasure and such a great teacher.

Been working my way through old familiar media while I nurse chicklet🐣 bc my brain is too broken for new information at the moment, and OH BOY watching America’s Next Top Model at the age of 37 is a VASTLY different experience than watching it at 21.

Man, being a first time mom as an elder millennial with boomer parents and greatest gen grandmothers is a damned trip in terms of how it lays bare the way expectations for parenting have changed.

If I had infinite money, my first big splurge for myself (as opposed to family stuff- new house, college fund for chicklet🐣, paying off Jim’s student loans, etc…) would be to have someone make me a modern computer, but housed in an old 90s Blueberry or Key Lime iBook clamshell case.
