Every year I lay a circle of salt around my home on Samhain. It's a rough 3 days until Dia de los muertes ends. This year I live in an apartment so I have to hope sprinkling a line across the windows and doors will do.

I can't tell you how many writers I've met that think their protags need to be flawless, perfect people. The truth is a good MC should have some strong flaws, fears, and maybe even vices. They'll be far more interesting and relatable to the reader.

I can't tell you how many writers I've met that think their protags need to be flawless, perfect people. The truth is a good MC should have some strong flaws, fears, and maybe even vices. They'll be far more interesting and relatable to the reader.

I had an interesting conversation with my older brother last night, after I came home from work. We were dealing with an electrical fire that destroyed a whole warehouse. I dissociated on the drive home. He's four so it was about fire trucks.
