Speaking of a gathering of scientists: As a non-native speaker I‘m slightly obsessed with English collective nouns like „pride of lions“, „parliament of owls“ or „unkindness of ravens“.
So what would be a good collective noun for scientists?

TBH I've never really been really comfortable doing Social Media. Perhaps for the same reason I rarely go to parties. I prefer to find one interesting person and talk with them half the night.

I believe that we the people must think differently to overcome this politics that Trump represents. If you're expecting that another election is just the thing, remember that our batting average has been just 0.500. That ain't nearly good enough.

Politically I identify with the Left but I don't throw bombs. I haven't felt represented by the Dems since my early twenties. I went along with voting for Kamala cause I figured that kicking the can down the road four years was preferable to laying down for the full fascist takeover.

I'm giving Bluesky a fair shake though I doubt it will remain indefinitely as a sane & friendly community. I fear that it'll grow too fast, but I imagine I could still make some friends along the way.
