However, there is a dark side to this new North Sea plan in which the fossil fuel industry &lobbyists win - lock-in to gas based carbon capture

Huge news from the UK today: after UN climate talks in which there was a massive fight over language on fossil fuels, the UK government today announced that it will in fact be keeping many millions of barrels of oil & gas in the ground. Deeds rather than just words for a change! 🧵

Just received news that 27 people have been arrested in Parliament Square under the Terrorism Act 2000 for holding signs saying "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action".
This is real police state behaviour.

Dear MAGA friends and family, are you OK with Elon’s & his band of hackers accessing your personally identifiable information and income tax records?

How would you have reacted if Biden gave George Soros or Bill Gates this kind of access?

The most unpatriotic members of any society are the far right. They will always align with foreign interests against the interests of their own nations. They will always undermine national institutions and national values in pursuit of their own interests. When they pose as patriots, they lie.

Chilling similarities.

Remember, during the election campaign, Trump said that if the people voted for him they would never have to vote again.

Dictatorship.
"Days before Donald Trump’s inauguration... an article appeared in the US magazine The Atlantic: ‘How Hitler Dismantled a Democracy in 53 Days’.

Trump’s name doesn’t appear at all in the piece by Timothy Ryback, a historian and an authority on 1930s Germany. But joining the dots is not difficult."
Trump: following in Hitler’s footsteps?
As Trump begins his second term with the far right on the march across America, is history about to repeat itself in more ways than one?

Sanctioning courts because you don’t like legal conclusions that come from them…

…is a very healthy beginning to authoritarianism.

Good luck, America.
The ICC’s treatment towards Israel and equivocating to Hamas was unacceptable.

We should absolutely sanction the ICC.

I plan to vote for the bill and respectfully urge my colleagues to join me.
