Can you believe this? The American Battle Monuments Commission, a U.S. gov. agency, ordered the removal of displays honouring the Black soldiers who helped liberate the Netherlands. These men fought & died for freedom, & now their contributions are being erased. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/n...
A Dutch war cemetery added displays showing black US soldiers. Then they were quietly removed
Relatives fear the move is part of ‘the same virus affecting the US’, as historians and politicians say it coincided with Trump’s DEI purge

Just happy to see the librarians live the spirit of "F* u I won't do what you tell me" even if many of our leaders won't.

X posts said the majority of SNAP recipients are not U.S. citizens. That’s a vast undercount, according to federal data. Almost 90% of SNAP recipients are U.S.-born citizens.

Sooo much love for this and you.
Since it was a small group, and the presentation was not recorded, the @datarescueproject.org let me write up a short summary of my presentation:

And to be clear that is a quote from Denice Ross. Very useful for perspective.
Lynda points out that even though a relatively small number of data sources have been shut down by the US Federal government, many more are affected through letting go of staff - death by a thousand cuts.

I'm deeply grateful that @lyndamk.bsky.social wrote a lovely blurb for my book, "The Data Management Workbook," which comes out in just over a month.

This isn't a contest or anything, but it will bring a lil morale boost to your fave #DataRescue crew!

Thank you, MDLS, for being such a kind and welcoming space.
