Grateful for the past two years as a researcher with Smithsonian’s #Peru_BMAP, where I’ve been leading an environmental DNA-based fish monitoring project in Peru’s central coast. Wonderful! This is something that should be assessed in every country to evaluate the biodiversity value of tourism and to act toward protecting/studying important taxonomic groups.
Our next paper from this year is the first-of-its-kind for Thailand! A multidisciplinary look into the bridge between SCUBA tourism, biodiversity, economics, taxonomy and awareness. Marine biodiversity valuations can guide funding and policy!
