The Muskian project is clear: dismantle democracy at all levels and resurrect pre-19th century plutocracy, where colonial-style corporations rule in place of public institutions. He calls himself the future — but this is as archaic as it gets.

Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures. Wealthy universities do have some wiggle room in how they can deploy their endowments to cushion (some) of the Trump shock, as this article shows. lpeproject.org/blog/how-to-...

European billionaires who benefit from high quality public services, pay next to nothing in taxes as a share of their pharaonic wealth — and who now threaten to favor Trumpism over contributing a bit more to help solve a budget crisis in their home country. What do you call this?

We can’t spend 4 years debating if the new US political establishment uses fascist gestures, discourse or strategies—it does. Alas, talking about it all day won’t help progressives win elections. What must be discussed are economic policies that can radically improve US working-class lives.
