Research on wealth inequality and climate change is just in its infancy. While there's work on income and consumption inequalities, wealth (closely tied to power) remains underexplored. We introduce a framework & highlight key open questions. Stay tuned!

The top 1% global wealth share could rise from 38.5% today to 46% in 2050 if the wealthiest entirely own the new low-carbon infrastructure. Conversely, if this is financed by a tax on the top 1% and then owned by governments or not-for-profits, the top 1% wealth share could drop to 26%.
