🚨Great news!

🔻 #Coal power in #India coal-fire fell in 2025 by 3%.

While mild weather was cited as the reason, it is only a small factor and the largest factor contributor is: rising #renewables ☀️

Not exactly a smart move leaving rule making to others I would think. This will hurt the US influence for decades.

🌎The #USA 🇺🇸 just announced to exit 60+ international bodies, including the #UNFCCC. This elevates retreat from tactic to doctrine in the #Trump administration.

What are some of the main bodies they leave 👇?

Today's politicians don't care about law, clean air, water, people's health - but they do care about 'overwhelming public opposition'.

Time for all to raise their voices against plans to ramp up offshore drilling, argues @juliepackard.montereybayaquarium.org

Trump’s plan to open California’s coastline to oil drilling threatens more than ocean life
OPINION: The Trump administration plans to open the length of California’s coast to offshore oil and gas development, regardless of the law and the consequences.

The failure of our elites to hold Trump accountable for January 6th is as disgraceful as what happened on that awful day.

Since 2010, 35 democratic leaders around the world have been criminally convicted. Only Trump went unpunished and unconstrained.

Now he threatens democracy at home and abroad.

It’s remarkable how seemingly unplanned and irresponsible the US administration has operated in #Venezuela.
VP Delcy Rodriguez, whom Trump indicated earlier today was collaborating with the US government, is live on television right now.

Earlier reports that she's in Russia are false. She's in Caracas with the rest of the cabinet.

To those who say at least he is open about it: this erodes norms and taboos. This is bad news for anyone who wants peace - or lives in a country in the influence spheres of potential imperialists.

🔭 The long term implications are very unclear, what this will do to Venezuela, what the US follow up will be, who notably fired most ministerial experts on Venezuela as part of their efficiency program, you thought invasion of Iraq was handled poorly, this might turn out even worse.

📉Short term oil market implications in the short term are likely modest given the countries output has shrunk to only about 0.8% of global oil trade - notably with China, Cuba, and viabintermediaried the USA as main consumers.

🛢️Venezuela with over 300 billion barrels is by far the biggest oil reserve holder in the world. Noteworthy that the country contrary to the US administrations line is not that significant in drug trafficking.

This violates international law and risks eroding a core post–Cold War norm: that great powers do not openly wage force against the sovereign leaders of other states but now might do so openly against smaller neighbors (Russia-Ukraine, USA-Venezuela, China-Taiwan).
