It’s remarkable how seemingly unplanned and irresponsible the US administration has operated in #Venezuela.
VP Delcy Rodriguez, whom Trump indicated earlier today was collaborating with the US government, is live on television right now.

Earlier reports that she's in Russia are false. She's in Caracas with the rest of the cabinet.

#Trump saying the quiet part out loud that attacking #Venezuela was about #oil.

To those who say at least he is open about it: this erodes norms and taboos. This is bad news for anyone who wants peace - or lives in a country in the influence spheres of potential imperialists.

What’s the implications of the U.S. detaining #Maduro, the president of the world’s largest oil-reserve holder, #Venezuela.

#US Military apparently captured #Maduro after bombing #Venezuela.

Much more to unpack, but if you look at the numbers it’s hard to imagine this was more about drugs (<2% of of seizures from there) than #oil given the country has the worlds largest reserves.

COP30 gave us a tentative roadmap to transition away from fossil fuels. But what does that mean? And perhaps more importantly, what do we need it to mean?
