Out on the street that barren hush of the weekend already entering the half-shut, fire sale hours.
Indoors, dusk divides the rooms into a Magrittian Empire of light: half the rug gaudy gold as a dictator’s palace, velvety dark claiming the other, nightmail hours packing up the day to carry it off

It was a beautiful autumn weekend, perfect for going out and having an audience with a favourite tree.

I had this stamp created after a particularly harsh piece of feedback in a user test once. It came in very handy thereafter to challenge what I was creating. Sometimes I would even imagine taking a run and a little jump and planting it on the occasional forehead.

Increasingly I question the value of social media in my life, as each network crumbles. I would miss you, all you fascinating strangers with lives I love to look in on - your cats, your art, your struggles, your nights out, your loves, your loneliness. I see it all, and am grateful for your sharing.

I was about ready to walk away from social media today for good, but this wonderful thing was well worth lingering for.
Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

Anyone else’s cat do this? I seem to be in a thing now with Jo’s cat where he expects me to give him a comforting pat on the bottom whilst he eats his food or he just yells at me.

Went for a 6km run - and I was full of beans! Which was a huge mistake as it made me really uncomfortable and slowed me down a lot. Must eat less beans next time.
