What do you get if you add poems that are "Shel Silverstein meets Rumi for kids" with pictures of yetis and primordial slime? Words with Wings and Magic Things, a book of illustrated poems for kids.
In 'Words with Wings and Magic Things,' poetry is beautifully illustrated — and fun!

When a student responds to an open-ended question, we then have the opportunity to "step it up" or "step it down" by providing challenge or providing support. Great takeaways for teachers from Tricia Zucker & Sonia Cabell's work! 💬 More in this article: files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/ED6... #EduSky

Has anyone had an issue with #alttext seemingly not saving on this platform? I have reminders on and have added alt text for every image I’ve posted, but it’s now only appearing on about 60% of them. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue!

If you’re looking for a free way to support an author, did you know you can ask your library to stock a book you want to read that they don’t have yet? And usually it’s a very basic online form? Google your library name plus the words “request a title” or “suggest a title” to find yours.

And at the elementary level, vocabulary doesn’t have to be a standalone component of our instruction. In fact, it can and should be integrated with science, social studies, math, and authentic reading experiences! ❤️🧠 #EduSky
All teachers are teachers of language. Every discipline has specialized vocabulary. You may not be the “English teacher” but you are still teaching academic vocabulary, writing forms, morphology, and comprehension skills. #OntEd #EduSky

What a great topic! I had the honor of starting my teaching career in the same school where I had been a K-4 student. I got to work alongside my former teachers - all of whom had inspired a love of story for me and my peers. Here I am with my fourth grade teacher in 2003 and 2019! #kidlitchat
