WHAT
the Hell is this
In his speech about the death of Charlie Kirk on Wednesday night, Donald Trump seemed to blame the large chunk of the nation that reviles his divisive policies and those promoted by Kirk “as surely as if they had pulled the trigger,” @sbg1.bsky.social writes.
Did Trump Just Declare War on the American Left?
After Charlie Kirk’s tragic killing, the President speaks not of ending political violence but of seeking political vengeance.

Just so you know, the President of the United States is *personally* involved in convincing state lawmakers to pass gerrymandered congressional maps that erase Democratic seats.

One Sick Fuck.
In his Oval Office address on political violence, Trump lists the attempt on his life, the Scalise shooting, and attacks on ICE agents.

He does not mention Jan 6th, the attack on the Pelosi family, the Hortman murders, the kidnapping attempt on Gretchen Whitmer, or the fire at Gov Shapiro’s house.
Trump: "For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we're seeing in our country & it must stop right now. My admin will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity"

Wrong FIRING!
So MSNBC reportedly fired Matthew Dowd tonight just hours after Jesse Watters called for his "immediate" termination over his Charlie Kirk shooting comments.

Meanwhile, Watters said he's going to "avenge" Kirk's death because "they are at war with us" -- and he'll face no repercussions from Fox.

If listing cases of 2025 US political violence, one would include the Charlie Kirk killing, the Melissa Horman killing (MN state legislator), and the CDC shooting.
The president omitting Horman and CDC, but reaching back 8 years for a non-deadly shooting to cite, conveys approval of those shootings.

Today's ruling on birthright citizenship allows presidents to do what judges have ruled illegal, writes @pemalevy.bsky.social.

No matter how brazenly unconstitutional a presidential act may be, the courts cannot protect anyone who does not personally sue or is unable to join a class action lawsuit.
