A metal Bistro set sit in the shadows of a dune. The light changeable as it was dark 20 minutes prior. A night in the desert, an indelible memory. Morocco was very much a blind date, our guide made us fall in love.

The aqueduct begins at the Clifton Court Forebay in northern California and stretches through 444 miles to end in three different branches: The west branch ends in Castaic Lake. In my yard, GCSP are winter birds, arriving as the temperatures cool & days shorten. They occupy the shrubberies along the walk from my house to the mailbox, serenading me & surprisingly bold. They’re still here as the early quinces & camellias burst

Photo taken at Forest Farm NR ~ South Wales A tawny owlet is a small, fluffy, and predominantly brown or grey bird, often looking like a "ball of fluff". Unlike adult owls, which have more defined feathers, juveniles are covered in soft, downy feathers that can look grey or brownish. They are small, stocky, and rounded, often described as having a "big head". They lack the ear tufts seen on some other owl species. Their plumage is mottled, blending brown and grey, making them very hard to spot against tree bark. When very young, their down can appear grey or "dirty looking," sometimes appearing white when extremely small. They have very large, dark, and forward-facing eyes, giving them a gentle yet intense look. The bill is usually horn-coloured. They are often found perched on tree branches (a behaviour known as "branching") and can appear very still. They are known for being able to turn their heads up to 270 degrees. They may be heard making a "Ke-wick" sound, which is a high-pitched call. They are often found in woodland areas, sometimes in nest boxes or tree holes.
