Plate-billed Mountain Toucan feeding at sunrise-After the Andean Cock-of-the-rock, his is the bird I was hoping to see most on our trip last summer to Ecuador. Such beautiful and unique birds. They came on 2 mornings we were there to visit the feeding stations and eat bananas.🪶

First time we've even SEEN one of these elusive little desert birbs, the Verdin is known for its bright yellow head and chestnut shoulder patch, both of which I managed to catch through the thick scramble of our cholla patch today.
