Last winter I spotted this Coyote full of mange and walked with a strong limp. This year, it's mange is no where near as bad as last winter and it's limp is dramatically lessened. It's a survivor!

A winter sunrise scene overlooking Lake Superior. The majority of the land in this photo is covered by a thick blanket of snow. The photo is taken from the top of a rocky channel, starting in the lower right of the photo and extending towards the center of the image. The edges of jagged black basalt extend through the snow along the channel. Most of the exposed rock is covered in ice. The channel leads the viewer's eye towards the horizon, where the sun is rising behind a thick layer of clouds. Above the clouds, the clouds lessen, allowing diffuse golden sunlight to flood the scene. There is a layer of thicker clouds below the upper thinner clouds, predominately on the right side of the photo. These clouds are darker, with the undersides and sunward edges catching a golden glow.
