Writing tips? Here you go:

Kill adverbs (but not literally).
Dialogue tags? Stick to 'said.'
Show, don’t tell—unless telling is better.
Your first draft? A hot mess—and that’s okay.
Read your dialogue aloud.
Characters need flaws.
Write. Rewrite. Repeat.

Now go slay!

Ah, yes, Trump—just what we need. A guy who called NATO 'obsolete,' cozied up to dictators, and threw tantrums about trade. Nothing says 'strong alliance' like treating your closest allies like enemies and threatening to pull out of defence agreements.

Thanks, but no thanks. World deserves better.

If Trump's first administration was stocked with Bond Villains, it seems like the second one is going with more of a Legion of Doom vibe.

A brief thread...

I am listening to a mystery audiobook and the characters use the term “fartlighting” to describe situations where someone says something outrageous to cause a stink. I have needed that term for my entire adult life.

This explains so much, actually. Turning off the perfectionism when writing takes practice.
The part of your brain that creates is different from the part of your brain that interprets and edits, so when you edit while you write, you knock yourself out of your groove.

Write fearlessly then edit judiciously later, preferably with a break in between to gain perspective on the work.
