Asked how he might one day explain to Liam everything that has happened, Conejo said he would tell his son that he had become the face of hope and change. "He was the global figure who did all this so that the voices of the people demanding freedom would be heard, especially those of the children who are still locked up," Conejo said. “I would tell him he was very brave and that I am very proud of him.”

An uprising broke out at an immigrant jail in southern Texas on Saturday, with around 1,000 immigrants detained in the facility — many of them children — chanting “Libertad” and “Let us go,” according to an attorney who witnessed the event.

The critiques of Starfleet Academy are largely rooted in a misunderstanding of both Star Trek and the YA genre. And also this show is the only thing helping me keep the barest grip on joy and hope at the moment.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.
