31 km ride on Montreal’s calm streets to Jean Talon Market, lush linear parks, and iconic Fairmount Bagel. Repurposed streets, murals, pedestrian zones, and waterfront views. A steep climb back to the Oratory. A full day of food, art, green spaces, and discovery.

We explore Montreal’s canals, enjoy scenic multi-use paths with autumn foliage, and stop for lunch at a café. Later we ride through LaSalle and Verdun’s bike-friendly streets, and climb up to the basilica — only to get locked inside unexpectedly.

Brampton's Active Transportation Advisory Committee members, and citizens, hosted Fold and GO guests from #BikeTO today. The Toronto Brompton riders group took a GO train to Brampton for a 17 kilometres tour of cycling infrastructure. And coffee post-ride, of course.

We left the whimsical Days Inn Berthierville on a cool, sunny day along the St. Lawrence. Smooth roads, fall colours, and a light tailwind made for effortless cycling. Crossing into Montreal, excellent bike paths led us to The Oratory, completing our 520 km journey.

We rode from Drummondville to Sorel-Tracy on quiet country roads & forest trails. Brilliant fall colours, calm parks, and friendly roads made for a beautiful day despite headwinds. After lunch we took the Sorel-Tracy ferry, and ended our 80 km ride in Berthierville.

We rode nearly 90 km from Sherbrooke to Drummondville with one long climb, red maple rows, & a mix of rain and overcast skies. A flat tire and endless red lights slowed us down, but we arrived just in time for dinner—poutine, in the city where the famous dish was born.

With only 41 km to ride, we enjoyed a relaxed start and sunny skies. The trails were smooth, scenic, and rich with art and fall colour. After lunch in Granby, we followed Véloroute 4 into Bromont, a charming ski town with a lively main street.

Cycling from Midland to Barrie took us past murals, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, and the Martyrs Shrine. Steep climbs, detours, and trails tested us on the 100 km ride. We finished with a swim and dinner in Barrie—an unforgettable Ontario cycling adventure.

Rain couldn’t dampen our travel day as we packed up and celebrated with friends in Orillia. The next day, I rode my first gran fondo of the year from Barrie to Brampton, joined by Barry & Cindy. With over 500 km cycled in 2 wks, I’m training hard for Quebec in October.
