The 14th amendment, among other things, gave citizenship to emancipated slaves. Without it, there’s a whole question of whether or not any person who descends from those folks have citizenship.

The rise of multi-hyphenates is a direct result of people NEEDING to be multiple things in order to survive under capitalism.
Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing people embrace all their facets, but when it’s FORCED upon you as a means of survival?
It’s a “feature”, not a glitch.

Sometimes ya gotta create your own safe space, build your own table, and invite people you trust to your party. It may be lonely in the early days, but anything worth doing will have hard parts.

I have library cards from all the towns I’ve lived in just for this feature. I may not live there anymore, but I can still access their digital libraries
This is good advice for just about every profession…except maybe neurosurgeons and presidents.
The number one advice any & every writing professional can & will give you is this:
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SUCK.
You have spent years reading books, watching movies & TV, developing taste to know good from bad. NO ONE GETS TO READ YOUR WRITING UNTIL YOU LET THEM. Trust your taste & write fearlessly.

This is good advice for just about every profession…except maybe neurosurgeons and presidents.
I'm seriously considering turning my business into an online reality show for 2025. Like, go behind the scenes and see how I make decisions, the ups and downs, what I'm reading, who I'm working with, and why. The whole 9 yards.
