PLUR1BUS is something we haven't seen in some time on TV: dangerous science fiction. A real think piece. Takes the question played around with in Asmov's GREEN PATCHES, ANNIHILATION, and even SEA OF RUST, to its most interesting conclusion: What if individualism is the biggest threat to world peace?

Andry & the 252 other men sent, without due process, to a torture prison in El Salvador feels like the epitome—the soul, moral center, & quintessence—of this administration. I will never forget it or him.

The Toronto Star has a superb and complex article by Linda Svendsen reflecting on Alice Monro reacting to her fiction. It's fascinating reading but, alas, behind a pay wall. If you already subscribe to the Star, or don't mind subscribing, you might look it up.

Yesterday I was fired by Columbia University after eight months as executive editor of the Columbia Journalism Review. This was the first time in a 25-year career that I've ever been subjected to discipline in a job — much less terminated from one.

Also of importance from @caroloff.bsky.social "These are people who don’t usually talk to reporters and they probably hang up on pollsters. We may be in for a big surprise on April 28th."
Is the Poilievre vote underrepresented in polls? Are we in for a repeat of Trump 2016? I hope not.
Pierre Poilievre says he's dedicated to "free speech" while the pseudo "news" groups- his cheerleaders-- attempt to shut down legitimate media.
