Ireland is the distillation capital of the World. When Hennessy etc escaped via flight of the Earls they brought it to France. This is Dromin House in Listowel (just restored), where reference to an apple brandy distillation room dates to 1661.

'Clair de lune.' (1895) Relatively unknown today, Charles-Victor Guilloux exhibited his paintings at the Salon alongside Paul Gauguin and the Nabis artists. A reviewer praised his contribution as ‘A magnificent series of landscapes sent in by an unknown who is a master.'

A dreadful 24 hours for traffic accidents again. Walking our dogs on a tiny rural road this afternoon & we see it happening again and again; please slow down, give walkers space. Driving is so aggressive since the end of the pandemic. The driving test doesn’t prepare drivers for real road driving.
