I'm in the stage of financial responsibility where I play the very responsible game of seeing just how long I can go without paying a bill before they threaten to go to collections or shut off the lights.

Oh how priorities have changed. I scroll right past thirst traps and Instagram ass, but these eyes will always gaze upon pics of your 5 lb bass.

You ever think that Trump's hate of darker folks comes from the fact that they have a much better natural tan than his facemask?

Why don't pop country songs about small towns ever talk about the real country life?
🎶 So you only drive 5 minutes to the nearest grocery store? Ya got a job that's within an hour from home? So you're saying you've got opportunities?
Yeah? Try that in a small town🎶

One of my most profound observations today doing ecological restoration work on a sand prairie:
It's hot as fuck today.
Boom. Science.

The best part of being involved in Environmental Science:
Buying fishing gear, random tools, camping gear, and hunting and fishing magazines, kayaks, etc and justifying to my wife that it's "for science"
#saveourparks #conservation #environmentalism #bassproshops (sponsor me I spend so much...thx)

Denise Cheung, a veteran prosecutor and head of the criminal division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in D.C., was forced to resign after resisting the Trump administration’s demand to freeze the assets of an environmental grant initiative. Thank you for your service and integrity, Denise.

As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to “save” the country as they see fit

This past week: physical labor on overtime for menial wages. Late nights studying for EnvSci degree.
This weekend: playing a game where I meticulously hand forge horseshoes, and run around for hours getting people's groceries. Kurwa, I love this game!

$5 says that McMussolini brings TikTok back (after being the one to get the ban started back in 2020) and the move will win him some support because very few will actually know/remember/care that he was the one who initiated the ban. Also getting an app back is instant. Uniting against fascism isn't

Rural populations are easily radicalized:
Feeling left behind, left without food, left without jobs, left without infrastructure, and all they see in the media is "city problems" they are left feeling ignored.
Helping farming communities, may hinder the continuance of radical right ideology.

Education in rural areas places focus on agriculture, but the majority of farm work in those communities relies on government subsidies and large corporations. The jobs available in those areas are disproportionate to available workers.
No jobs. No food

We rely on roads in deterioration, that rarely get plowed, and the vast majority need to drive over 30 minutes on those roads each way to work, to the store, and to do mostly anything.
No infrastructure. No opportunities. Yet they vote to keep it that way.

Rural populations are easily radicalized: We have food deserts yet are surrounded by fields of corn and soy grown for fuel, plastic, food additives and livestock feed, but still need to travel 10 miles to the nearest Walmart.
