Them: “I’m sick of subsidizing their groceries when mine cost so much”

SNAP does not drive up grocery prices.

That would be inflation, tariffs & corporate greed.

For every $1 spent on SNAP there’s a $1.50 going back into the economy.

While you’re blaming the poor, the rich are robbing everyone.

65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

May my friend @sfdirewolf.bsky.social rest in power. I will especially miss texting with her about Star Trek.

We were lucky, all of us, to have Alice and her warmth and enthusiasm.

Can’t stop thinking about Alice Wong today. I couldn’t do any of what I’ve done and hope to do with disability justice in libraries without the foundation she laid, and I suspect that’s true of a lot of people in a lot of different disciplines.

I hope she knew what an impact she made.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

Catalina “Xóchitl” Santiago spent nearly two months in ICE detention—despite having protection under DACA—until a federal judge ruled that the government had no reason to keep her in custody and ordered her release.

DHS is still vowing to "explore every available option to remove" her. My latest:
Then they came for the Dreamers
Immigrants brought here as children were told they wouldn’t be deported. Now, they’re being targeted anyway.

Well now, would you look at that?

A massive study of NEARLY 300,000 people in the United States found that receiving an updated 2024-2025 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine REDUCED people’s risk of severe disease AND death in ALL age groups, REGARDLESS of immunity from prior infection or vaccination.

There were 13 elections last night for a statewide office.

Democrats swept all 13.

That’s 1 in NJ. 3 in VA. 2 in GA. And 7 in PA (all judges, retention and regular).

They won 12 of the 13 races by double-digits, with margins up to 24%. The only other race, the tightest, they won by 6%.

That'd be THIRTEEN flips; the chamber is 51/49 right now.

I know people sometimes forget, but your local elections ARE CRUCIAL. Your schools & libraries depend on local elections. Your AG choice is the one who will stand up to unjust federal actions. We've seen mayors stand up. And if you want to shift your party, the local elections are where you do it.
I voted early, and this “off election year” had a ton of consequential races from school board to public service commission to judges. Make sure you vote in your local election today!
