NEW: By trying to stop a voter-led referendum, Missouri’s GOP is testing whether politicians can insulate their gerrymander from public judgment altogether. The outcome could reshape how, and whether, voters can check partisan power.

Unavoidable conclusion: SCOTUS has put 1 man in America above the law & created a king. Not the first time a case has been decided wrong. The fix for democracy lies, as it did in Dred Scott, with fixing a broken decision. Hopefully this one won’t require a civil war. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/26/u...

Great urgency in reviewing Epstein files. Then silence for three months. Then the July 6 “nothing to see here” memo.

Wonder what they found that led to panicked silence then attempted cover up?
The docs also reveal the number of hours the FBI devoted to the project, which required some agents to work nights and weekends. The FBI paid personnel $851,344 in overtime for working on the Epstein files between March 17 and March 22.

Pretty alarming that Republican lawmakers in Montana are no longer even pretending to respect the state supreme court as part of a co-equal branch of government

DOJ on the March 15 Alien Enemies Act flights: “After receiving … legal advice, Secretary Noem directed that the detainees who had been removed from the United States before the Court’s order could be transferred to the custody of El Salvador.”

At Law Dork, I cover what happened Tuesday:
DOJ lawyers state that DHS Sec. Kristi Noem made decision not to return March 15 flights
Also Tuesday, ACLU lawyers name Emil Bove, now a federal judge, as a possible witness in Boasberg's contempt inquiry over the flights. And, for paid subscribers: Closing my tabs.

Kristi Noem is guilty of crimes against humanity and needs to face justice.

📌 She made the final call to defy a court order to halt deportation flights, sending people into the hellscape of CECOT, a place the UN has compared to a torture chamber.
