Love one of the GOATs, but would be ironic if one of his longest running ideas were to become reality only because he propelled one of his star lieutenants to enough stardom and wealth that he could be in charge of such a tremendous mess that the idea became palatable

ChatGPT, what are the best stocks to play the "Canada joins the EU by 2028" theme?
In a speech to the World Economic Forum, Mark Carney says middle powers such as Canada must accept that the rules-based international order is effectively dead, and great power rivalry with is here to stay. Key excerpt:

fascinating to compare how Wall Street reacts to the possibility that a socialist might have some power somewhere versus how it reacts to the concrete reality of a literal madman tearing down the American-led post-WWII global order

These 5 paragraphs read together are mental. Dont think even the most pessimistic would think we would get here. It is 1 year to the date he assumed the presidency. There is 3 more years to go.

In dire times like these i deeply regret never learning mandarin. Not because im particularly convinced that they are our new overlords to be but because you know for a fact Chinese social media right now is popping with memes of the highest quality
Sharing. Not mine. Just making sure everyone else sees where we are.

I'm not sure we are there yet but we are edging very close to the distrust for US being such that others see the need to permanently reduce exposure to it beyond Trumps presidency. The problem gets worse the more the GOP mantra is that you can't speak ill of the Supreme leader. China keep winning.
Further datapoints for how Europeans can no longer trust American elites whether or not Trump is in power

I hate that the only European leader that seems to know how to play with Trump is a Frenchman but I will begrudgingly take it

If the figures we're getting out of Iran are in the right league, this weekend was, I think, one of the bloodiest state crackdowns of all time. People are talking 12,000-20,000 dead; for comparison Hungary in 1956 was about 2,500, Tiananmen - across country, in multiple cities - probably 1000+

Keep 'em coming.First dev. country doing this will open floodgates. Only thing preventing benevolent governments doing so is Musk's ire and usage of his power(at this point much more important than his wealth) to the detriment of rulling parties(UK best example). But attention is limited.
