Our cat, who usually sleeps for 7+ hours straight on our pillows, just kept me awake all night by pacing & staring at the wall above our bed. Four hypotheses:

1) Just because 🤪😐😽

2) He saw a spider

3) He was spying on our neighbour 🔎🧐

4) An earthquake is coming. Check your kits!

I gotta say: the whole “being on crutches” thing is tougher than I thought. It isn’t b/c it’s tiring, or my arms are sore — it’s navigating common spaces w/ people who don’t notice your crutches. So sketchy.

My empathy for people who regularly use mobility tools has increased by a million percent.

It’s surprising how few people know that some of the first groups targeted by the Nazis were gay & transgender people. The pink triangle, now a symbol of LGBTQ+ resilience, was originally used to mark them in concentration camps. History matters—let’s not forget.

The public pool is another fave spot. I was doing laps w/ my husband at the rec centre near our house this morning, and afterwards, we reflected on just how nice it was. People from all walks of life were there. Everyone was happy. Three cheers for community!

Also: music venues are wonderful.
