The thing about remembering Dick Cheney for calling for fair treatment of gays and lesbians is that he used none of his power to help any gay or lesbian he wasn’t personally related to.

Our movement won in spite of him, not because of him.

Good riddance, war criminal.
Pluribus pilot is maybe the best I’ve ever seen.

Everyone does know what's going on here, right? Should the Epstein evidence bill pass both the House and Senate, these criminals will say it can't be released because there is an active investigation. Never mind that a thorough investigation was completed, and the DOJ was prepared to try Epstein.

The Olivia Nuzzi article is a reminder that not all aspects of these times is interesting. Some of it is painfully dull.
November 14, 2025 at 10:43 PM
Disgraceful but also stupid as this is going to keep Epstein in the news.
It is hard to overstate how disgusting this is. That Trump would do it is no surprise. That an attorney general would comply to do a vindictive and targeted attack may also be no surprise given Pam Bondi, but it is disgraceful nonetheless

This is the most glamorous opening to an article about a white supremacist flattering journalist who lied to her readers and editors while having an affair with narcissistic crank who eats roadkill, swims in sewer water, will cause children to die, and is 50 years her senior that I've ever read.

I will no doubt read and enjoy all your very good Nuzzi jokes, but I also want to say earnestly, so many of us (myself included) are on the verge of being pushed out of this industry and it's genuinely so dispiriting to see the worst among us, ethics-wise, get such preferential treatment.

I would say the only thing about Olivia Nuzzi I want to read is the obituary, but I don’t even want to read that.

I represent dozens (yes, dozens) of people raped by guards in the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

It sure would be nice if DOJ gave a tenth as much of a shit when it comes to compensating them.
NEW: DOJ has been in settlement talks with Michael Flynn -- Trump's first national security adviser seeking $50M for his prosecution by ex-special counsel Robert Mueller -- and Stefan Passantino, a Trump I White House lawyer who accused the House Jan. 6 committee of privacy violations

There’s an entire section of Berlin’s SS museum dedicated to the people like JD who didn’t wear the uniform.
We're getting down to "Well, he doesn't wear the uniform or have a weird little mustache" as one of the last remaining explanations of how JD Vance is not an actual Nazi.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

This is great news but it’s fucking pathetic that SCOTUS was going to let this go forward.
Tremane Wood is alive in spite of the Supreme Court, which, this morning, rejected his request to block Oklahoma from executing him at 10am as punishment for a murder he did not commit

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt commuted the sentence to life in prison at 9:59

Once again we need to redefine what we understand to be political violence. This is a disgusting effort to disenfranchise millions of people.

Taking away people’s ability to self determine by majority rule is more than just a political act.
Missouri’s referendum on minimum wage and paid sick leave last year won by a margin of 58 to 42 percent statewide. Under a proposal advanced by the GOP, it would have failed because it didn’t win more than 50 percent in every congressional district.
Under this GOP Measure, All of Missouri’s Recent Popular Initiatives Would Have Failed
Lawmakers just advanced a constitutional amendment to drastically raise the bar for approving citizen ballot measures. Voters get to weigh in on the scheme next year.

There's no problem Vance won't blame on immigrants, even if he has to invent the problem himself.

A few weeks ago he was insisting immigrants lived in cramped squalor and their (white) neighbors had a right to be upset about that.

Now they're so rich they're snatching up all the good houses? OK.

I would be embarrassed if I looked like Pulte when I turn 55.
I used to look at photos of people in the past and think about how much better everyone is aging now that we aren’t smoking and eating like shit. Then I saw Bill Pulte and now I’m wondering if my cohort’s ageless nature is, in fact, a byproduct of virtue

Cannot wait to see how it ends for Bovino.
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."
