I understand the complaints of orientalism in ffxiv about the new variant dungeon outfits but I feel like too many people are approaching it from a Western perspective of Orientalism vs a Japanese perspective on Arabia and Persia.

Merva is a bastardisation of Menrva, the Etruscan goddess who contributed to Minerva. The surname Martius is the month names after the god Mars. It’s kinda basic since it mostly just meant “good at battle but clever too”
