Me neither. Most western Gov’s (U.K. included) relying on fingers crossed behind backs

Ooh, and one of the biggest shocks in this piece is near the end, where it states that conflict of interest statements are very rarely followed up to check credentials.

🚨 Senior staff at Peter Mandelson’s lobbying firm Global Counsel are behind a think tank that is urging Labour ministers to adopt controversial private finance deals

Was watching ‘Homes under the Hammer’ yesterday and it got me thinking about leaseholds- who owns all these freeholds where basically they get paid for ‘owning’ a piece of land? Turns out it’s not that easy to find out!😬

The press last year: "Lord Max Percy is selling off his 9,500 acre Northumberland estate... The property, in the Percy family since 1332, offers one ultra-high-net-worth individual the opportunity to own a sprawling slice of rural Northumberland."

Well, it's gone to THE WILDLIFE TRUSTS.
